FUNDACIÓN CUERPO SUR
MISSION
Fundación Cuerpo Sur is an entity whose purpose is to contribute to the development, promotion and dissemination of contemporary activities, projects and works of art. We develop artistic and training initiatives.

Within our network of contacts in Latin America and Europe, we are interested in positioning the Fundación Cuerpo Sur, through the Avanzada Sur program, as a training and visibility alternative for young creators from Latin America who do not have the possibility of migrating from their countries to study abroad or follow an academic and research process beyond their countries of residence.

At the same time, we seek to support the creative processes of young creators who are already established. developing live arts projects at a national level, but they need support in making their research visible and disseminating it internationally, whether in residencies or festivals.
We are interested in supporting you in the process of initiating contact with artists, cultural professionals, and artistic programmers from other countries, through a portfolio of projects in various markets. performing arts in which to present their work.
VISION
As Fundación Cuerpo Sur, we work through inquiry in specific communities and territories . We are interested in spaces that are not capital cities, where other languages, traditions, and wisdom still persist on the margins of mainstream narratives. Likewise, we see the South as an alternative North, the body of the South that has a different way of understanding, creating language, and communicating. We work through artistic and educational projects, promoting horizontal learning that revitalizes and strengthens the epistemologies of the South.
We believe in the development of collaborative practices in specific communities that can reduce social, territorial and class gaps, which marginalize certain communities from the possibility of accessing new knowledge, training opportunities, networks of contacts, resources and material conditions to develop their own artistic identity.
The Fundación Cuerpo Sur advocates for an alternative body, one forged by different understandings, shaped by its Indigenous and mestizo origins, colonized and recolonized. A body that champions other wisdoms and relationships with nature. The Cuerpo Sur Foundation yearns for a just relationship with nature, with the human and the non-human. A body that connects with its environment through ecological relationships and artistic development.
